THERAPIST: Sandra Lee (Sandie) Brock

When I began my practice I knew that connection with people, and being present to them, was more important to me than another body moved through the door. Because I approach my work in both a professional and relational manner, I believe my clients know I genuinely care. Over the years I have made some good friends and have also had the privilege of walking with many through difficult physical and emotional times in their lives. I don’t pretend to have all the answers, and refer out to other supportive healing resources in our community and beyond.

My desire is to create a safe space where you can relax and receive what you need both physically and emotionally. Because our emotions are connected to our body that means emotions may be released in a session. I encourage you to talk if you like, be quiet if you don’t, laugh, cry, whatever is needed to fully experience what is right for that session. I know my clients are trusting me and I seek to be worthy of that trust, respecting their privacy and confidentiality.

A therapist since 1997, I have learned many techniques and have landed on the more intuitional John Barnes Myofascial Release and Craniosacral work as the therapy I use. Although it is more subtle, I find this work best facilitates the connections between physical pain and either emotional pain or spiritual need and has longer lasting results. Click here for a description of Myofascial Release.

My faith is foundational to my approach to both life and health. I seek to be a conduit of healing, love and compassion to others. I offer a unique combination of connection to ALL of who you are by helping you learn to listen to your body, God, and all that your heart and mind bring to the picture. This completes the body, soul, spirit circle and brings deep healing and foundational shifts in the way you experience life. You can read more of my thoughts about this in the Essentia Experience Therapy of this site.

Lastly, communication is important to me so please let me know when I am serving you well and when I am not. This dialogue is important so we can both be satisfied with the quality of the care.

God’s peace to you!

“After trying many massage therapists, I’ve become one of Sandie’s regular clients because I have had such a consistently superb experience.” – F.

“Sandie is a thoughtful, prayerful, kind person who provides extraordinary service and is attentive to one’s needs and comfort.” – B. Author & Pediatrician

“Sandie offers therapeutic massage and healing that has high benefits for those seeking both inner and outer healing.” – S. Mentor Match Manager, Trusted Mentors Inc.

“I travel for a living, so I’ve had massages with several therapists around the country… But I’m always excited when we’re back home because Sandie is by far my favorite. She’s of course immensely skilled at her work, offering several massage modalities depending on your needs each visit (swedish, ashiatsu, deep tissue, prenatal, myofascial therapy, trigger point, craniosacral, hot stone, or a combination). But not only is she skilled at massage, she’s just so warm and personable. I always feel immediately at ease, safe, and cared for… And this personability aspect is more significant to the “success” of a massage than I could have imagined… (that is until I had massages with people who were awkward, cold, distant, and/or simply more shy.) Sandie’s presence, work, and even her location offer an obvious vibe of love and compassion.” – T.

“I have been going to Sandie for therapeutic massage for about four years. Her special touch has kept my body and mind in good shape through two pregnancies and many stressful times. I look forward to my regular visit and know that I will leave Sandie’s place refreshed and relaxed. I used to have middle back pain (knots) and would go to Sandie to work them out. She suggested that I come every three or four weeks to avoid problems rather than coming in when I was in pain. My monthly appointment is a treat. It makes me feel great and prevents back trouble. Sandie is the greatest!!” – M.

“I have really enjoyed getting massages from Sandie Brock. I have gone to her for normal massages, but also used her for personalized body issues: leg and hip problems from long flights, TMJ, and shoulder problems related to working on a computer. I’ve also appreciated the spiritual aspect of Sandie’s massage. There are times that the healing I received during a massage session seemed more connected to my emotional needs rather than just my body being in pain.” – K.

“The bodywork I received from Sandie as I prepared for my first marathon was extremely beneficial. This therapy, coupled with a strenuous running program, not only allowed me to complete the 26.2 mile race, but also assisted in the post race recovery. It should be incorporated into any serious training program.” – S.

“Sandie Brock is amazing. She offers a full range of massage therapies, including the special practice of Ashiatsu, a technique performed with the feet.  Ashiatsu permits a deep tissue work that offers unparalled relief in my experience. And Sandie is a truly gifted and thoughtful practitioner. She creates a relaxing environment and is exceptionally responsive to my needs. I cannot recommend her highly enough.” – T.

“When I first went to see Sandie, the tissue in my back and neck was inflamed and stiff. I had endured the discomfort for several months before I made the appointment. After 3 or 4 sessions, my back and neck area was much improved and my whole body felt so much better. My experience with massage has decreased pain in my back, improved my flexibility and general outlook about my health. Every session gives me the time to relax and renew my interest in taking care of my whole body and its health. I will always include massage in my life, and really believe that the massage process can heal many areas of the body beyond measure.” – N.

“I’ve gone to Sandie through both of my pregnancies. I feel that this was one of the best prenatal things that I did. After each visit you feel new again, relieved from all of the stress and tension that you feel not only from being pregnant, but also from everyday life. I had significantly less back and hip pain after each visit. Sandie has a true gift. Not only does she have hands of healing, but she speaks as though she hears God’s words. After a massage from Sandie you not only feel relaxed and rejuvenated, but spiritually healed. She has such a calming sense about her, it is bound to rub off. I recommend prenatal massage to everyone that I know. It changed my pregnancy experiences.”– K.
